📋 Description

• The Director of Controls will be responsible for properly utilizing available software and controls engineering resources to fulfill the needs of clients as well as internal company needs. • Part of this responsibility is knowing when the engineering teams are being over utilized and additional resources should be procured or contracted. • This individual must be knowledgeable of all projects being worked on by their team so that they can support their engineers’ needs and help them resolve project issues. • This role will require strong interpersonal and communication skills with enhanced multi-tasking abilities across engineering, project management, procurement, and manufacturing. • The ideal candidate will have the ability to support company and client needs while also promoting individual success and inspiring their employees to grow within the organization. • Direct engineering resources to keep them fully utilized on internal and client projects. • Recruit and interview possible engineering candidates when additional resources are needed. • Oversee training and mentoring of engineering personnel. • Execute annual performance reviews for engineering staff and recommend raises or promotions when appropriate. • Develop and maintain department standards while making sure that these standards are followed by all employees for all projects. • Collaborate with executive team to develop department goals and individual development goals for engineering staff. • Work with clients and other KPI employees to develop the proper material handling system and equipment to suit the client’s needs. • Attend design reviews and client meetings to support design team engineers. • Support vendor factory acceptance testing or first article inspections. • All engineering resources report to this individual. • Travel expectations are approximately 25%.

🎯 Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field or 10 – 15 years of equivalent experience. • 10 – 15 years of experience in material handling engineering or 5-10 years of experience in engineering management. • Excellent organizational skills with emphasis on effective oral and written communication. • Ability to manage a diverse engineering staff located both in office and remote.
