Description
• Selling and consulting at the farm gate with animal owners • Evaluating existing feeding programs and recommending Purina products • Developing new prospects and making sales cold calls • Organizing and conducting educational meetings/events to enhance Purina's brand image
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field strongly desired • Candidates with a pending bachelor’s degree or proven sales and industry experience may be considered • Previous sales experience highly desired • Basic command of nutritional and feeding recommendations for animal owners • Understanding of husbandry, current management practices, and nutritional guidelines • Work/life experience in management and care of animals • Competent in providing accurate feeding and management recommendations • Strong computer skills, specifically MS Office, and ability to be trained on software (HerdSmart, Salesforce) • Strong background and previous professional experience with cattle, dairy, equine, or lifestyle animals • Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organization and time management skills • High internal drive, natural relationship building ability, and leadership in a team environment • Ability to make multiple daily sales calls to customers and prospects • On farm interaction in all-weather types for walkthroughs and animal evaluations • Ability to network in the industry for additional business and relationships • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds • Solid public speaking skills • 15% overnight travel required
