β’ Execute on the Financial Commitments from the Division β’ Direct profit, growth, and distribution management for one of the five Small Commercial Divisions β’ Own strategy to deliver on key metrics for the division including Combined Ratio, New Written Premium, New Policy Count, Total Written Premium, Line & Industry Mix β’ Meet or exceed annual operating plan for the Division β’ Proactively manage effective resource/headcount deployment against sales plans and market opportunity β’ Role Model Leadership to Sales Team and Internal Partners β’ Own all aspects of talent management within the division including pipelining, onboarding, coaching and developing, performance management, rewards and recognition β’ Lead effective execution of sales practices, metrics, and operating routines β’ Partner exceptionally well with Underwriting, Product, Service, Claim, and all areas and other businesses of The Hartford β’ Provide creative thought partnership to SC Leadership Team to challenge status quo and encourage innovative strategies and solutions β’ Drive Successful Engagements with Distribution Partners β’ Strategically engage with all levels of agents from VIP agents to small agents with great opportunity including all agency types, structures, and affiliations to prospect for new Small Commercial business opportunities β’ Engage in a disciplined manner with our key distribution partners to drive balanced new business flow, protect renewal business, lead new product penetration and cross sell strategies β’ Oversee the building and execution of strategic agency plans to achieve financial commitments
β’ Minimum of seven or more years as a sales or underwriting leadership role with a track record of successful financial performance metrics within a large division required; a minimum of five or more years of recent experience in property & casualty insurance required; commercial lines carrier experience strongly preferred β’ Proven track record of success as a leader of people; minimum of five years successfully leading teams of five or more people; experience leading leaders preferred β’ Demonstrated strong relationship and influencing skills; quickly earns and maintains the trust of business partners and colleagues β’ Confidently executes in a fast paced, high-pressure sales organization; combines passion and poise and exhibits exceptional executive presence β’ Exceptionally well organized in leadership and self-management including travel, handling competing priorities, and staying focused on key execution levers β’ Embraces a culture of collaboration and innovation and strives for continuous improvement and champions change β’ Geographic experience within the Southeast preferred β’ Must be willing and able to travel (minimum 50%) including overnights
