Description

• Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and business development strategies and initiatives to achieve revenue targets and market expansion; communicate business development strategies and progress to the executive team • Identify emerging market trends and business opportunities to guide strategic planning • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded • Conduct market research and outreach to identify potential clients and understand their needs and degree of interest in the company’s products, services, and timeframe. Utilize established tools outlining the ideal customer profile and client/opportunity qualification. • Analyze the competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions; inform appropriate cross-functional stakeholders of significant changes to clients such as financial holdings, mergers/acquisitions, or product development changes • Negotiate budgets and scope of work to secure new business • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical operations, project delivery directors, resourcing, and finance, to ensure seamless service delivery; ensure appropriate hand-off of new projects to the project team • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development activities • Oversee the preparation of compelling proposals and presentations; manage the full-cycle bid proposal and bid defense process including coordination, preparation, attendance, and follow-up on proposals and bid defenses • Manage, plan, and attend appropriate industry trade shows, conferences, seminars, networking events, etc. • Ensure all business development activities are updated and accurate in the CRM database

Requirements

• BA/BS degree, preferably in business, marketing or science • 7+ year’s related sales and business development experience • In-depth knowledge of the clinical research industry, preferably with hands-on industry-related operational experience • Previous experience in selling clinical research services
