• Prospecting & Lead Generation – Identify and engage potential captive members, including self-funded employers and brokers. • Broker & Client Relationship Management – Build and maintain strong partnerships with brokers, TPAs, and consultants to drive referrals and new business opportunities. • Sales & Program Education – Clearly articulate the benefits of stop loss captives, self-funding strategies, and risk-sharing models to prospects. • Pipeline Management – Track and manage leads through the sales process, ensuring timely follow-ups and smooth onboarding. • Market Research & Strategy – Analyze industry trends, competitor programs, and market opportunities to refine business development strategies. • Collaboration with Internal Teams – Work closely with underwriting, actuarial, and account management teams to align sales efforts with program capabilities. • Sales Reporting & Performance Metrics – Maintain accurate records of outreach, pipeline progress, and sales performance to track growth initiatives.
• B.A./B.S. in Business or a related field. • At least two years’ experience in a business development role (insurance or stop loss experience preferred) • Ability and willingness to travel multiple times a year, which will include overnight stays for corporate gatherings, conferences, and health fairs. • Ability to attend and professionally engage in video meetings. • Strong technological skills, meaning you can effectively and efficiently use computers, peripheral equipment, and applications/systems, including Microsoft products. • Autonomous self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity. • Creative mindset and ability to appropriately challenge the status quo. • Superb written and oral communication skills. • Ability to overcome obstacles with a ‘yes if...’ approach. • Ability to effectively balance competing deadlines without losing focus on the bigger picture. • Reliable internet and power with a designated area to conduct work with minimal interruptions.
