Description

• Advising Renew Capital management on legal issues related to investment activities. • Supporting legal functions of portfolio companies. • Developing company policies/procedures and compliance programs. • Creating and managing legal templates. • Maintaining and improving SOPs for Legal Unit. • Managing relationships with outside counsel and overseeing their work. • Keeping abreast of legal developments. • Structuring investment vehicles and assisting with setup. • Drafting investment agreements. • Conducting due diligence on investments. • Managing closing process for investments. • Drafting, reviewing and approving contracts with service providers. • Maintaining intellectual property of Renew Capital. • Advising on HR and employment issues. • Identifying and resolving conflicts of interest. • Advising partners/staff on legal risks impacting Renew Capital.

Requirements

• J.D. degree and state bar member in good standing. • At least 5 years’ experience practicing law in law firm, government, and/or in-house setting. • Ability to deliver creative legal solutions considering cross-cultural realities. • Demonstrated excellence and efficiency in written communications. • Ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audience. • Demonstrated passion for harnessing business for good. • Demonstrated self-starter, capable of working independently. • Experience designing legal structures or drafting legal agreements for investments in frontier markets is favorable. • Experience preparing successful applications for international development grant funding is favorable. • Experience advising clients on a range of legal matters is favorable.
