Description

• SeatGeek believes live events are powerful experiences that unite humans. • We are seeking a Litigation Counsel to join our legal team. • Advise SeatGeek’s business and internal legal teams in order to reduce litigation risk. • Oversee successful defense and resolution of disputes. • Make an immediate and significant impact addressing complex legal matters. • Be a key member of SeatGeek’s legal team and report to Associate General Counsel, Litigation & Employment. • Proactively identify litigation risks and work across business teams to mitigate risks. • Oversee litigation, pre-litigation, regulatory, and other disputes across multiple practice areas. • Partner with business on litigation and legal risk issues to craft balanced solutions. • Develop litigation case strategies and resolve disputes efficiently. • Ensure appropriate litigation and dispute resolution processes are implemented and evolving.

Requirements

• J.D. degree from a top accredited institution and admission to practice (or in-house eligibility) to practice law in New York • 5+ years experience in litigation, top law firm, and prior in-house experience preferred, tech experience a plus. Title and level will be commensurate with experience • Self-motivated with the ability to identify and complete work that needs to be done without being instructed • Demonstrated ability to balance and prioritize many simultaneous tasks, ensuring the right matters get your attention • Advanced problem-solving skills and excellent judgment - you’re able to quickly digest a problem, evaluate solutions, and then empower others to deliver • Ability to balance legal risk mitigation against key business objectives and risks • Passion for solving legal problems with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-lawyers • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated track record of working effectively across business and legal teams • Superb analytical, writing and organizational skills
