• Oversee EHS Regulatory for Water and Wastewater Treatment Design at Smithfield. • Develop standard operating procedures and compliance documents. • Provide operator training and guidance during challenging conditions. • Assists in establishing and maintaining compliance with applicable EHS regulations. • Maintain a safe working environment and uniform EHS program application. • Ensure facilities are prepared for corporate audits and address open audit findings. • Lead regulatory compliance disputes including OSHA, EPA, and other agencies.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and 10 + years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required. • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in team management/development or project leadership is required. • Bilingual skills preferred but not required. • Good decision maker and ability to perform in stressful situations. • Excellent communication skills – must be able to relate to all levels of the organization. • Detail oriented. • Excellent knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation processes. • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, regulators, and the general public. • Knowledge of Spreadsheets and Word Processing and software support systems. • Travel 50% of time.
