Description

β€’ Associate Directors provide leadership, guidance, and direction to a team of Senior Managers. β€’ Responsible for performance from financial, risk, and service perspectives for multiple claim teams. β€’ Direct responsibilities include staffing, claim handling standards, strategic initiatives, change management, and collaboration with internal partners. β€’ Leads team of 6-8 Senior Absence and STD Managers. β€’ Sets claims strategy and direction, improving overall effectiveness of absence management and short-term disability offerings. β€’ Creates a positive and inclusive work environment, encouraging team members' performance. β€’ Identifies opportunities to enhance processes and client experience. β€’ Ensures ongoing claim management is within service standards and best practices. β€’ Develops, implements, and monitors performance indicators. β€’ Interacts regularly with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and clients to influence solutions and strategy.

Requirements

β€’ Strong leadership skills and a minimum of five years supervision/management experience. β€’ Five years of demonstrated success in fostering a high performing Absence and/or Short-Term Disability team. β€’ Exceptional communication skills. β€’ Highly effective in leading change management positively and effectively. β€’ Demonstrated success in building trust-based partnerships to solve strategic and tactical matters. β€’ Proven success in developing employees and supporting career aspirations. β€’ Deep understanding of managing absence and disability teams with adherence to state and federal laws. β€’ A working understanding of functions required for successful partnership with internal parties, including underwriting, distribution, TPA strategy, and legal compliance. β€’ BA/BS in a related field of business is highly preferred. β€’ Field or industry specific designations are a plus.
