β’ Responsible for verifying insurance eligibility, benefits and obtaining authorization for outpatient office visits and procedures. β’ Must project a positive image of the organization and department. β’ Completes accounts in a timely manner supporting patient satisfaction. β’ Documents benefits information such as deductible, co-insurance and out of pocket benefits. β’ Meets productivity standards for assigned work queue. β’ Assists in educating patients and acts as a resource. β’ Communicates with patients and/or departments regarding authorization denial and status. β’ Participates in process improvement initiatives. β’ Provides customer service and assists patients with insurance related questions.
β’ High School Diploma or equivalent β’ Computer literate (EPIC scheduling and registration application experience a plus) β’ Strong written and oral communication skills β’ Able to work in a team environment β’ Graceful under pressure and stressful situations β’ Demonstrated knowledge of insurances, including authorization/referrals guidelines and requirements β’ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form β’ Bi-lingual knowledge a plus β’ Ability to interact and assist patients of all ages, cultural background and with special needs β’ Ability to work under a high level of stress with time constraints while maintaining composure β’ Maintain a high level of diplomacy when dealing with stressful situations β’ Is innovative, proactive and resourceful in problem solving
