• Develop and implement a dynamic Business Development plan that aligns with customer needs and company goals • Close and win business from both new and existing customers through compelling propositions and strategic selling • Generate and nurture sales leads via outbound calls, trade shows, digital leads, and more • Craft and submit commercially viable proposals and quotations that exceed growth expectations • Prepare and present key account insights at Quarterly Business Reviews to drive growth • Monitor and report your progress using Salesforce.com, ensuring timely updates and accurate forecasting • Follow up with customers post-sale to guarantee satisfaction and seamless transition to post-sale teams • Cultivate and expand key customer relationships to align with future growth opportunities • Document competitive tactics and market intelligence to inform strategic decisions • Act as a subject matter expert in large or global RFPs, supporting key sales and operations processes • Proactively increase your stakeholder network to support Avantor’s growth targets • Travel to customer sites, host visits, and represent the company at trade shows, always presenting a professional image • Perform other duties as assigned, showcasing your ability to adapt and excel in a dynamic environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent/applicable experience • 5 years in business development or similar roles, involving complex purchasing decisions and solution-based selling • Demonstrated track record of driving growth through consultative and strategic selling approaches • Business-to-business sales experience, especially valued if you have a background in clinical trials, logistics, or have worked in a CRO, laboratory, or similar service environment • Preferred understanding of effective business development strategies within the Biopharma industry • Exceptional Communication: Demonstrated excellence in listening, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with business owners and decision makers across various channels (phone, email, in-person) • Team Collaboration: Strong team interaction skills, routinely collaborating with customers and internal staff to achieve common goals • Adaptability and Multitasking: Thrive in a fast-paced environment, efficiently prioritizing multiple and conflicting tasks while maintaining a focus on providing solutions • Independent and Strategic: Proven ability to work independently, manage time and business accounts effectively, and sell strategically within an account • Customer Insight: Deep understanding of individual customer operations, enabling tailored solutions and strategic selling • Analytical Excellence: Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail, ensuring thorough and strategic business conversations • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) with experience in C4C being an advantage • Willingness to Travel: Ready to travel to customer locations as needed to build and maintain relationships
