• Develop and implement business development strategies to grow the pre-clinical and clinical services division, identifying new opportunities and markets for growth. • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities by building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers in biotech, pharmaceutical, and CRO companies. • Achieve revenue and business development targets by expanding the client portfolio and building long-term partnerships. • Work closely with internal teams (project management, marketing, scientific experts) to ensure alignment of client needs with service offerings, and ensure the successful delivery of projects. • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify trends, emerging opportunities, and potential clients in the pre-clinical and clinical space. • Lead contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms that align with company objectives while addressing client needs. • Provide high-level support to clients, ensuring that their project requirements are met and addressing any concerns promptly. • Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and attract new clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or a related field. • An advanced degree (MBA, MSc, PhD) is preferred. • 7+ years of business development experience within pre-clinical and clinical services, preferably with Contract research Organizations – CROs. • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and successfully closing deals in the pharmaceutical or biotech sectors. • Deep understanding of the drug development process, from discovery through clinical trials, and familiarity with pre-clinical and clinical research services. • Strong network of contacts within the pharmaceutical, biotech, and CRO industries, with the ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships. • Ability to develop and execute strategic business development plans aligned with company goals. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and compelling manner. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams, fostering a team-oriented culture. • Experience managing business development for global accounts or multi-national companies. • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. • Familiarity with digital and data-driven solutions in clinical research.
