Description

• The Master of Arts in School Counseling Program Director reports to the Dean of Counseling and directs all aspects of the degree program, including curriculum, clinical practicum and internships, faculty hiring, training and development, student and program assessment, and CACREP accreditation. • The Program Director teaches an annual load of 12 credit hours. • The Program Director is the contact point for student, staff, and faculty issues prior to escalation to the dean. • The Program Director maintains core faculty status; faculty rank is assigned per the CCU Faculty Handbook.

Requirements

• A terminal degree in Counselor Education and Supervision from a regionally accredited college/university, CACREP accreditation preferred. • LSC (or state-based equivalent) license is required. • Teaching and clinical counseling experience required, which includes two years or more of clinical experience in a variety of counseling settings. • Knowledge of ethical standards of practice and ability to effectively teach the same. • Demonstrate superior oral, interpersonal and written communication skills. • Demonstrate competence in a variety of computer applications including MS Office Suite, Blackboard, and other software used in the program. • An understanding of adult learning and distance learning theory. • Exhibit a servant spirit and behavior.
