β’ The Key Account Manager will be based in Montreal, Quebec and will cover Eastern Canada. β’ He/she is directly responsible for representing PTCβs products to medical professionals specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of metabolic diseases and/or Phenylketonuria (PKU) within their assigned region. β’ The incumbent handles all operational aspects of pharmaceutical sales and services, including, but not limited to, generating sales, communicating and promoting the product's clinical and economic benefits, building and maintaining successful relationships, educating healthcare staff, and identifying new opportunities for commercial and scientific growth. β’ He/she works cross-functionally with internal departments and external resources on Sales-related issues. β’ The Key Account Manager supports adherence to relevant compliance, regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as appropriate.
β’ Bachelorβs degree required. β’ Degrees in the areas of life sciences, business, or healthcare are preferred. β’ Requires a minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical, biotech or healthcare sales experience. β’ Requires a minimum of 5 years of rare disease, orphan drug or highly specialized sales experience. β’ Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and successfully growing and managing a territory in prior roles. β’ Previous selling experience in specialized clinics, hospitals, and academic centers, including the ability to perform complete account selling. β’ Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical data and to develop strategic and actionable business plans. β’ Excellent bi-lingual verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly. β’ Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed team environment consisting of internal and external team members. β’ Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. β’ Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills, including supporting and prioritizing multiple projects. β’ Proficiency with Microsoft Office. β’ Ability to travel extensively throughout assigned territory (including nights and weekends as needed).
