• This new position combines work from home in combination with travel to site locations requiring living in close proximity to a major airport. • The Director of Health & Safety for Railserve Material Handling Division will be responsible for managing day-to-day safety aspects of our EH&S program for US and Canada region, and to provide leadership for maintaining a culture that encourages safe behaviors and the corresponding employee mindset. • This position evaluates operations with regard to overall safety, compliance with safe operating rules, crew performance and customer needs. • Implements the company safety program and monitors continuity and effectiveness of program. • Conduct periodic location safety assessments as required by the Corporate Safety Department. • Evaluates the company’s safety standards in accordance with Federal regulations (i.e. OSHA, Transport Canada and Provincial OHS and Railway Legislation, FRA, etc.) as applicable, to ensure compliance. • Conducts safety assessments, trend analysis, audits and site inspections of operational procedures, equipment, and materials. • Maintains proper safety related files such as employee training requirements and records.

Requirements

• 7+ years safety and leadership experience and/or training. • B.S. in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Sciences or related degree from an accredited educational institution preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Must have superior communication skills; able to speak in front of large groups and effectively communicate safety-related presentations. • Safety Management Systems experience • Strong Process Safety Management experience • Strong leadership skills • Basic computer, MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel knowledge and skills • Must be willing and able to workdays, evenings, and weekends when needed • Willingness to travel to various locations throughout the US and Canada • Valid Driver’s License & Passport
